Malleshwaram - Nandi Kalyan Temple

Nandi Kalyan Temple is situated in Temple street.We walked ( I and Usha) from Circle Mariamman Temple to Nandi-Kalyan Temple.We Passed through Kadu Malleshwara Temple and Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple.

Entrance of Nandi Kalyan Temple was impressive with Floral Decorations.(I think the Day before that was Pradosham,I am not sure of it).As we enter we cannot see any temple.There were Grass,Flowers,Some Stone Benches,Butterflies,Birds,off Course People and No temple!!!!

Atmosphere was so calm,Serene and Beautiful.

After we walk Past all the Beautiful Courtyard/Garden,We entered in through a small Gate.and What do we see,A Beautiful Water Tank.

As we Went through the Prakara,we saw the Priest (Gurrukal ) and asked him about the specality of the temple.

He said Nandi is special there.Water Comes from Mouth of Nandi and later on Passes through the brass Abhisheka Vessel kept above Shiva and water falls drop by drop onto shiva's head.(I think now you can picturise the scene).After the Abhishekam,water Goes towards the Water Tank.

Beauty is, Nobody knows where the water comes from.He said water comes even at the peak of Summer.

Shiva linga was Small but Nandi was big Compared to Linga.

When we entered the Temple,It started to Drizzle.

Drizzles in the Water Tank.

Water Turtles.(I saw them for the First Time)

Slow soothing Chant from Audio Cassette Shop in Temple.

We just sat there silently,watching the Tank and Rain.

Effect was Great and equivalent to Nirvana.

Malleshwaram - Part III

After we entered the temple,we saw elaborate pooja with abhishekam et all.

First with milk,Followed by Honey,Coconut water,Turmeric and Sandalwood Paste.Viewing of abhishekam always makes me happy.Screen was Put on for Alankara.Few minutes passed on while small children's cried,A Bit Grown-up Children were singing songs of Devi and Chanting Slogas.Then the Screen Opened.It definietely was a magical moment.With the entire Karpoora Aarathi,Ringing of Bells,Beautifull Yellow face of Devi,we were transcended to a different world.

When we finished our Darshan,We were welcomed with the Prasada.

Sweet HOT Chakara Pongal,with Banana .mmmmmmmmmmm,Chakara Pongal was really tasty.we came to Prakara were monkeys were Waiting to Greet us and get the Bananas.

After Coming out of the temple,on exit we saw the most beautiful Sculpture of MahishashuraMardini.The Beautiful and gigantic One.We came out with Fulfilled Heart.

While Coming back, I enquired the lady sitting near me about the Malleshwara temple,but she was saying about the Circle Marriamman temple.
Of Course,after visiting the temple,I felt like,"who will not tell about this temple?".
I was attracted to kadu Malleshwara temple by name and from what I have read in books.
So when the lady near me said about Circle Mariamman temple,it didn't attract the attention much.
Sometimes it happens,we humans go behind the popularity rather than by enjoying what is near us.
Same thing happened to me,keeping aside the lady's comments ,I went to Kaadu Malleshwara temple which was under renovation.
Later On in the month of June,I have to accompany my brother for an exam in Ammani College.
It was in Malleshwaram!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Favorite Place.
I and my friend Usha decided to roam around the place,while my bro was taking Exam.
We took an auto from Majestic to Malleshwaram.Got Down at Ammani College.
Guess What ????????
The Circle Mariamman Temple was just opposite to Ammani College.
So First,we went to Circle Mariamman temple.
Circle Mariamman temple,at First sight was beautiful and resembled of all the ellai ammans temple in and around Tamilnadu.
I think this temple was built to Safeguard the area of Malleshwaram as it is at the end of Malleshwaram.
When we entered the Temple,Anjaneya Welcomed us and asked us to give all the eatables.
As we didn't have anything like eatables,he stared at us and jumped to the next wall.
Thank God we entered the Temple!!!!!!!!!!

Even before we visited this beautiful Place,I have heard a lot about it.

What I heard were like :

1.Malleshwaram Name was derived due to the presence of Lord Shiva,Present as Malleshwara
2.It is one of the oldest inhabited area in Bangalore.
3.It is more like Triplicane in Chennai.
4.It consists of more number of Tamil Population.

All this have created a stir in me to visit this place.

First time I went to this place by chance.(Somewhere around April'2008)

I have to attend an interview in Vidyaranyapura.

I came from Hosur to Majestic and took a bus to Vidyaranyapura.

Bus went through Malleshwaram.

I saw the place

It was bustling with people,small shops with huge varieties to Display,very busy and more like triplicane.

I just want to get down there and get a hang of the place.

As I have to attend the interview,I shifted my plan later.
